Leaving for the Goducate training in Singapore coming from Los Banos, Laguna has kept me awake on the night of 17th Sunday. Because I still have to iron my clothes and pack up my bag. While in the busy-mode ironing and packing up my bag, I realized that having a woman in the house to help me around is important. Yes, you get it right! I am talking about a wife. In the middle of doing the chores, I started to get bored of what I do. So, I watched a movie, MULAN. No, not the animated movie of Disney but the one with the real Chinese actors. Watching MULAN has amused me because it was exactly opposite to that of Disney film’s portrayal of the warrior princess. I ended up doing my chore with a mixed emotions because the movie concluded with this message: duty is more important than love. So, the movie ended with a scene in which the warrior princess and the general parted their ways so that reconciliation and harmony between the two-warring kingdoms could be achieved. Opps, sorry for leaving you in mid-air. You just ask google if you find my end statement confusing.
All things were up! I left the house at 1:35 am to catch up my companion at the bus waiting area located right in front of Olivarez Plaza (OP), one of the two malls in Los Banos. Even if I walked about half a kilometer from the house to the OP, I arrived right in time – 2 am sharp, as agreed upon. But, there was no bus that passed by. So, we took a jeepney bound for Calamba City to take a Manila-bound bus there.
When we got into the jeepney, a stench of smell coming from the white pails on the isle welcomed us. We sat near the entrance so as not to get contact with the “stenchy” shrimps. However, along the way to Calamba City the driver picked up passengers . As number of passengers added, we were pushed towards the pails of shrimps waiting to get touched by our well-ironed pants.
For travelers like us, getting a “bumper-to-bumper” ride with “stenchy” shrimps could invoke a snippet of embarrassment in the airport. Thanks to Jet Li and Jacky Chan; we were able to maneuver ourselves away from the pails despite sudden halt of the jeepney when the driver picked up passengers.
We reached the airport non-scented by the uninviting smell. We mixed ourselves in crowd of travelers with confidence knowing that we still wore the same perfume we sprayed before we left the house.
